The “Emergence of 20th-Century ‘Musical Experience'” Team took part in the event “Nacht der Forschung” — an occasion for scientific communication to the general public.
Der Globale Soundtrack vor 100 Jahren / Pictures, Music, and Sound of World Exhibitions in the 19th Century
We were thrilled to present our research material and topics to hundreds of visitors, students, and families. We recreated a salon from the belle époque, with many curious attractions and 3 computer stations giving access to an occasion-specific website.
People enjoyed watching some fascinating videos from fin-de-siècle world exhibitions, browsing the digital content we curated, and listening to live performances of early 20th-century anthems.
Kids especially loved taking pictures at our photo cut-outs designed by Ernst Klimt himself, and nobody could resist our fabulous popcorn machine!
